Not only was it delicious, but it was so easy to make. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. So, when I came across a recipe for crockpot chicken and dumplings, I knew I had to try it, but I made it even easier by making my version with both canned biscuits and canned chicken. If you use frozen biscuits, make sure they are fully thawed before adding them to the crockpot. You can use any biscuit dough in the recipe, I just find the canned biscuits easiest. Using cream of chicken soup and canned biscuits make this yummy dinner so easy to prepare! It makes it look like I'm a great cook with virtually no effort. If you are using a smaller crockpot, you may not need as much extra liquid. I then add more liquid before adding the biscuits if needed. I increase the broth if I am cooking longer than 5 hours in my 6 qt. crockpot, then check the liquid level before adding the biscuits. I'd suggest about ¼ cup additional liquid per extra hour for a 3-4 qt. You'll need to determine that amount for your specific model. The amount of extra liquid you should add depends on how hot your slow cooker cooks as well as its size. You may need to add additional liquid at the beginning if you increase the cooking time. If you need to cook the chicken and dumpling recipe for longer than the recommended time you can. Larger crockpots will cook the same amount of food faster and hotter than smaller crockpots. Be aware that the size of your slow cooker will make a difference in cooking time and the amount of liquid needed. I haven't tested this recipe in a small crockpot. I use a 6 qt crockpot, which is a larger model. It's so convenient to just put everything into the slow cooker and let it do its thing until almost dinnertime! ![]() Shred the chicken and add the biscuits about 30 minutes before you want to eat. Start cooking the dish about 4-6 hours on high before you want to serve it. The great thing about this recipe is letting the crockpot do the work for you. Furthermore, KWin dropped support for EGLStreams after GBM was introduced into NVIDIA. GBM is generally considered better with wider support, and EGLStreams only had support because NVIDIA did not provide any alternative way to use their GPUs under Wayland with their proprietary drivers. Remote port forwarding – This is a reverse of local port forwarding. Local port forwarding – A port from the client PC is forwarded to the remote PC. Another type of SSH port forwarding not covered in this guide, is Dynamic port forwarding (see Using SSH to secure Internet connections).ġ. Two types of SSH port forwarding are: (1) local port forwarding, and (2) remote port forwarding, with local port forwarding being the more common. Although both forwarded and local ports may be the same, the examples shown use different port numbers for clarification. All commands in the examples here are executed from the SSH client machine (192.168.1.1). In the following definitions and examples, a remote machine is defined as the PC with the SSH server. Another use for SSH tunneling not covered in this guide is to bypass firewalls that block certain ports, such as port 80, which are often blocked to prevent users from accessing the Internet using company computers (see related article – Using SSH to secure Internet connections). Setting up the SSH sessions can be accomplished for both PCs from the same SSH client PC. ![]() In other words, using VNC with SSH port forwarding makes a port from one PC appear on another PC through a SSH connection, providing a secure path for the VNC traffic.Ī practical use of SSH tunneling with local and remote port forwarding would be to securely exchange the desktops between two PCs using the VNC protocol. SSH tunneling creates a SSH tunnel to encapsulate unencrypted traffic (the payload protocol), such as VNC, over an encrypted SSH channel (the delivery protocol). Using SSH port forwarding to secure connections is also known as SSH Tunneling. SSH or Secure Shell, is a secure protocol with a feature called port forwarding that can be used to provide secure connections for VNC, as well as for POP3, SMTP, RDP, HTTP and other protocols. Although VNC uses password encryption, the rest of the traffic is sent unencrypted. However, using VNC alone can be a security risk. VNC is a protocol that allows you to control a desktop from a remote computer and allows others to view or control your desktop from their computer. This guide illustrates the concepts for tunneling VNC over SSH. ![]() This means that if you're coming to the end of a PCP contract and want to keep your current car, but don't have bags of cash to buy it outright, refinancing can be a simple and affordable way to do it. Even if you had no cash at all to put down for another deposit, monthly payments would be around £265 - the same as the initial PCP contract, but with no large final payment needed to own the car. If you want to avoid having to pay a large final sum - and pay less interest overall - choosing Hire Purchase when the car is six years old would give you monthly payments of around £225 (again on a four-year contract with a £2,000 deposit).Īfter the four-year term, the car would then be yours to keep. You can either pay this to own the car or refinance again. Go for this option and after another four years, the car may have an optional final payment of around £4,000. That £20,000 car that might have cost £265 per month if you initially financed it at two years old, could be £150 per month if you refinanced the balloon payment - at six years old and with a £10,000 cash value - after the initial contract ended (again with a £2,000 deposit). Refinance with another PCP deal and your monthly payments should drop noticeably (assuming the same contract length, deposit amount and mileage allowance). And you have the option of taking out another PCP finance deal or Hire Purchase. If you're in that camp but you'd like to keep the car - either because you've fallen in love with it, because a new car is a little out of reach, or simply beause you'd rather keep your current car than source another one, then refinancing could be the answer. And most of us simply don't have that kind of cash to hand. That means that a £20,000 car that may have cost you £265 per month on PCP with a £2,000 deposit, could have an optional final payment of £10,000. The problem is that the optional final payment may be half the initial cash price of the car - or potentially even more - at the end of a PCP finance contract. The idea of simply making the optional final payment to own the car outright might sound simple, but it can be tricky in reality, if you don't have plenty of cash to hand. ![]() Refinancing a PCP finance optional final payment How to get out of a car finance agreement. What happens at the end of a PCP contract?. ![]() Or you could make the large optional final payment to own the car outright.īut what if you don't have many thousands of pounds to hand to make the optional final payment and still want to keep the car? While the effect is evident in a daily temperature plot, it is more readily apparent by looking at changes in the monthly average temperature. Average temperatures continue to climb until the sun drops lower in the sky. This lag is due to the time required for ground and water to heat up. Just as the warmest part of the day usually occurs several hours following noon, when the sun is highest in the sky, so too does the warmest part of the summer lags the summer solstice. In northern OH/Northwest PA, the maximum daily temperature occurs nearly 3 weeks later in mid-July. There is a lag between the longest day of the year and the warmest average temperatures for most mid and high-latitude locations. The Relationship Between Length of Day and Temperature The tilt's orientation with respect to space does not change during the year thus, the Northern Hemisphere is tilted toward the sun in June and away from the sun in December, as illustrated in the graphic below. Seasons are caused by the fact that the Earth is tilted on its axis by 23.5°. This fact may sound counter to what we know about seasons in the Northern Hemisphere, but actually, the difference is not significant in terms of climate and is NOT the reason why we have seasons. The aphelion, or the point at which the Earth is about 1.6 million miles farther away from the sun, occurs during the first week of July. During the first week in January, the Earth is about 1.6 million miles closer to the sun. This means that the distance between the Earth and Sun, which is 93 million miles on average, varies throughout the year. We all know that the Earth makes a complete revolution around the sun once every 365 days, following an orbit that is elliptical in shape. Naval Observatory. An alternative text link is found here. In the Northern Hemisphere, it occurs when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Capricorn, which is located at 23.5° south of the equator and runs through Australia, Chile, southern Brazil, and northern South Africa.įor a complete listing of the dates of the winter and summer solstices and spring and fall equinoxes through 2025, check out this site from the U.S. The winter solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year. For every place north of the Tropic of Cancer, the sun is at its highest point in the sky and this is the longest day of the year. The summer solstice occurs when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Cancer, which is located at 23.5° latitude North and runs through Mexico, the Bahamas, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, India, and southern China. Therefore, on the day of the summer solstice, the sun appears at its highest elevation with a noontime position that changes very little for several days before and after the summer solstice. The summer solstice occurs at the moment the earth's tilt toward/from the sun is at a maximum. Therefore, on the equinox and for several days before and after the equinox, the length of day will range from about 12 hours and six and one-half minutes at the equator, to 12 hours and 8 minutes at 30 degrees latitude, to 12 hours and 16 minutes at 60 degrees latitude. Additionally, the days become a little longer at the higher latitudes (those at a distance from the equator) because it takes the sun longer to rise and set. The "nearly" equal hours of day and night are due to refraction of sunlight or a bending of the light's rays that causes the sun to appear above the horizon when the actual position of the sun is below the horizon. ![]() At the equator, the sun is directly overhead at noon on these two equinoxes. The word equinox is derived from two Latin words - aequus (equal) and nox (night). These events are referred to as Equinoxes. There are only two times of the year when the Earth's axis is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun, resulting in a "nearly" equal amount of daylight and darkness at all latitudes.
